despite the many complains I have
about the foreign influx in Singapore,
about how the Chinese education policies are highly politicized,
about how housing prices are sky rocketing,
deep down,
it's a place I didn't want to leave behind for a long long time.
It is such a place of comfort.
Where anything and everything's within reach.
Where it's so vibrant and mixed u get the best of both the East and the West.
It's where I can have endless suppers and talks with my good friends.
Where we can talk no end over a cup of drink in any eatery,
atas restarant or kopi tiam.
It's where we can catch taiwanese movies or obscure arthouse films.
It's where everything changes and nothing changed.
The skyscapers and the roads, they are built and rebuilt endlessly.
But the people, the warmth makes everything seems like nothing much has changed.
It's a place of good food.
It's a place of much familiarity.
It's a place so dear to me.
Maybe underneath my ideals of appreciating nuances and diversity,
there's always this part which yearns for some stability.
I love new scenery.
I appreciate differences.
I understand diversity.
Somehow, I hadn't lived them.
"Home is where the heart lies."
Perhaps someday,
when home is more than staying in a particular physical space,
When it's sufficient that my home lies in my heart,
I'll be there, in Barcelona, with you. :)
