This is one of those days.
Sometimes I get on a cab and the driver starts rambling on and on. It's at high decibels in which my ears register a lingering sound of discomfort. My eyelids are heavy but as a people pleaser, I can't bear to remain silent. So, half heartedly I agreed with whatever that was said and he just went on and on. My half hearted responses only serve to caress his ego and spurred an enthusiasm so great it left me slightly irritated. "You are tired arh." Yes, very. I wished I could say "Leave me to sleep peacefully" but I was too restrained to hurt his feelings. "Yes I had a long day." Was all I could gather. And then, again he went on an on.
It was just one of those days when I wished cabbies could be more considerate, look at your wind screen and peek to see, feed your passenger with tenderness and good service. Feel and empathize for that mere 30mins.
Perhaps the loneliness of driving on the road has left the cabby deprived.
Well there, my tired soul has soothed your loneliness, I suppose,
a monologue worth, nodding my heads to.
