Intention VS Outcome

In the perfect world, good intention leads to good outcomes. But in reality it is not always true. If only one could exist, which is more important to you?

Good outcomes may not come from good intentions. What if, in the bid of furthering one's portfolio and gaining fame, a leader is focused on performance and achievements without empathy toward his subordinates?

Which is more important, if we can only choose one?

I suppose good intentions are more important to me, even if it does not neccessarily lead to good outcomes.
